Dubai’s Spicy Fast Food Items

Dubai is an international hub which is both a plus and a negative, as it’s easy to get food from many countries like London, Tokyo or Toronto but also hard if you don’t know any residents and what to try local spicy food cuisine.

Because of this and the limited time I had there, I wanted to try some popular fast food chains from how Dubai specialises in catering it to the locals. Here’s everything you should try during the month of October:

Spicy Chickenjoy + Spicy Chicken Burger

It’s been years since I had Jollibee so I went straight for the Spicy Chicken Burger while my friend had the Spicy Chickenjoy.

She told me the wings and thigh combo had a comfortable spice to it, you could feel it when you bit into it and it wasn’t to the point that the spice stayed at the back of your throat.

For me, I felt the same about the Spicy Chicken Burger. The chicken was in a crispy yet spicy coating that was more seasoned and was not something lethal to someone not used to spice. For that reason, both were around a Sriracha level.

Grand Chicken Spicy

Known as the refined, elegant twist on the classic chicken burger, the Grand Chicken has a juicy spicy chicken, topped with crisp lettuce, tender tomatoesand two slices of Emmental cheese, dressed in dijon mustard sauce.

It’s also a burger that you underestimate from the way it looks, almost as it’s not going to be peppery. The spicy premium chicken patty blended nicely with the mustard sauce and the bun and upon the first taste, you can tell it’s not something to take lightly which I love. I haven’t had something this good from the chain since McSpicy Shanghai in Korea and I hate to say it, but I’m craving a burger like this as I write this.

Zinger Supreme

Disappointedly, what I got from KFC was not what I expected. I ordered a “Zinger” Supreme which supposedly had a spicy chicken fillet along with cheddar, smoked turkey ham and mayo in it. Because it was something that I haven’t seen in the UK in probably a decade, I thought it would probably be something like the wicked zinger but it was more of a mini fillet with more mayo and looked like a subway sandwich.

The dynamite sauce which was an optional choice didn’t even add much to it, like it added a spicy mayo flavouring to it, but that was it.

On average, all fast food have been around a Sriracha level. Have you tried any fast food chains in Dubai? Which were your favourite?
