It’s been a while since I’ve had takeaway that has sent me to heaven and back. This time it’s House of Momo which first opened up in Dalston and now has a second branch in Brixton. House of Momo is a spot that serves great Nepalese food including its various signature Momos, noodle dishes and curries.
Finding Nepali food in my part of the city is quite hard so everything me and my friends ate was 10/10. This is everything we ordered:
- Steamed Momo Chicken
- Chili Momo Steamed Veg
- Jhol Momo Steamed Cheese & Veg
- House of Momo Buckwheat Chilli Noodles
- Dal Bhat Tarkari Chicken Box
- Paratha
Not the best picture but I was throwing the food down my belly so, so fast. Usually the sauce that comes with the Momos would be something I’d talk about but as House of Momo’s one was described as “hot and spicy sauce with a sweet kick” it was definitely more of the latter.
What was definitely the stand out of everything was the buckwheat chilli noodles. It’s gluten free, coated in a spicy chilli sauce and topped with spring onions.
Those noodles in particular were so spicy that even the next day, the pepper still lingered on them. It’s quite similar in taste to tantanmen but at the same has it’s own distinctive taste. And with everything else from the Jhol Momo to the Dal Bhat, it tasted even better. Order or eat in for your first taste of delicious Nepalese food.
