There was one fast food eatery that I thought had disappeared off the face of the Earth but I’m glad to see it still exists. Back in 2015 when I was in Hongdae, there was a rice burger chain called BonGousse Rice Burger (봉구스 밥버거) and it’s one of the perfect quick snacks to eat quickly in Seoul. Thankfully it’s still there though.
Despite not being visually appealing, I ordered the Kimchi Jeyuk (김치제육 or spicy pork) rice burger which consists of marinated spicy pork. For me, there’s a decent amount of heat and the rice soaks nicely into the topping choice that you order. It does get soggy eating as you finish but even now I’m still craving one of these.
Along with the Kimchi Jeyuk flavour, there are also some good ones to try from the menu such as 칠리치킨 (Chilli Chicken), 닭갈비 (Dakgalbi), 소고기고추장 (Beef with Gochujang) and 불족 (Spicy Braised Pig’s Feet). So while it’s a quick bite of heat, there’s variety and a mouth-watering snack to have when you’re a little hungry.
