7 Spicy Dishes from Video Games to Recreate

Read Time:3 Minute, 1 Second

There’s a variety of food that you can make in video games these days but what about the spicy ones? Why aren’t there more of those? One of my favourite things about video games is cooking and the food within the worlds in several games.

I’ve managed to compile a short list of all the dishes with more that a bit of pepper with a link to where you can find out how to recreate them in your kitchen. Each dish does have its own rank but on average, I’d say all dishes are around a 5 due to the range of recipes created for them.

⓵ Jueyun Chili Chicken (Genshin Impact)

In Genshin, this food item is a very common recipe to acquire and builds up a character’s CRIT rate. It’s also a delicious dish consisting of chicken, Sichuan peppers and garlic which reminds me of the dish, La Zi Ji (辣子鸡). One of the best recipes I found is from Chef Mar who frequently makes Genshin Impact dishes and they look amazing!

⓶ Spicy Long-Bone Rib Steak (FFXV)

One of the least popular dishes in my opinion is the Spicy Long-Bone Rib Steak from FFXV. It’s a dish that’s succulent and enjoyable. The dish can be made at camp or eaten at a restaurant which boosts Attack and HP. An easy recipe to follow to make this dish would be from Cooking with Ignis.

⓷ Gindaco-style Spicy Deep-fried Octopus (Yakuza – Kiwami 2)

In Yakuza Kiwami 2, most food heals and gives you a boost of experience. From the Gindaco Highball Tavern, their Spicy Deep-Fried Octopus is a seafood dish covered with spicy cayenne pepper and Japanese pepper. The best recipe I could find was made by マンガ飯再現料理人もりぞの (otherwise known as Anime Food in Real Life Morizono recreated).

⓸ Spicy Instant-Noodle Curry (Pokémon Sword and Shield)

Described as a good mix between the spicy curry roux and instant noodles, the Spicy Instant-Noodle Curry is made with an additional 10 spicy berries. There’s an easy recipe that can be found from this reddit user here but I hope the post won’t get removed as it looks and sounds as good as the original.

⓹ Hot and Sour Soup (The Sims 4)

The Sims has always been notorious for having various dishes. But one that stands out that I’d love to give to my Sims is the Hot and Sour Soup. It’s probably one of the most spiciest peppers (Ghost pepper) is used within this dish and I’m very glad to see Sims Cuisine has a recipe for this. It can also be found within The Unofficial Sims Cookbook.

⓺ Spicy Elixir (Zelda – Breath of the Wild)

Since Breath of the Wild, Zelda has been churning out a few spicy dishes. Sauteed spicy peppers, Goron spicy skewers…the list goes on! One that was interestingly made by Jammy Cooks is the Spicy Elixir which involves various jalapenos and would be perfect for ramen or even as a sauce. It’s an elixir that increases your resistance to cold temperatures, allowing you to travel through without taking damage.

⓻ Superspicy Curry (Kirby)

One of the most infamous dishes on this list is Kirby’s Superspicy Curry. It gives Kirby the ability to spit fire pellets at enemies for a limited time. In my head, it must be as fiery as a level 10 Coco Ichibanya curry but alas, Feast of Fiction has a recipe that replicates this legendary dish.

There’s definitely many more spicy dishes created within other video games to try and make. Which ones are your favourite?
